The high-speed railway line between Petersburg and Moscow is to be built by 2026, Interfax reports quoting Russian Railways CEO Oleg Belozyorov.
Designing the railway could take three years. The construction of the entire high-speed railway from St. Petersburg to Nizhny Novgorod via Moscow could be completed in 6 years.
By preliminary estimation, the project is worth 2.3 billion rubles ($37.4 million). Trains will run at a speed of 350-380 km per hour, the infrastructure limit will be 400 km per hour.
Earlier, RF President Vladimir Putin supported the idea of building the railway.
