The new owner of almost 50% of the mall is the Arabian investment fund Mubadala.
The Arabian investment fund Mubadala has become the owner of 49% in the Galeria mall in St. Petersburg. According to the Kommersant business daily, the deal was closed at the very end of 2019. According to experts, Morgan Stanley is expected to continue to manage the mall.
It was reported earlier that the Russian direct investment fund planned to take part in the acquisition, but it backed out of the deal at the final stage.
Mubadala was founded by the Abu Dhabi authorities. Galeria is not its only investment object in St. Petersburg, the company also owns 25% in the city’s Pulkovo Airport.
